Marybeth Fleming

Occupational Therapist

Day 2 - 12:30PM - 1:00PM

Marybeth has over 30 years of clinical experience, mentorship, and leadership as an Occupational Therapist. One of her areas of expertise is working with first responders, specifically those whose life has been affected by a psychological traumatic injury.

Marybeth’s career has taken her to many workplaces and communities throughout Nova Scotia. where the goal of the first responder is to “Return to Life’s tasks/occupations”. Marybeth prides herself in being a therapeutic support for first responders throughout their return to life and work journey. Marybeth is the one who returns to the scene of that accident when you need it, she’s the one sitting in the truck to help you get comfortable with your surroundings again. She is the one who has leaned on the curb with you as you cry in frustration because life seems impossible. Marybeth has successfully supported first responders during their work reintegration and living post trauma. Her expertise has been honed as a student, as an educator, in office and on the front line with first responders.  This period in her career has become exceptionally rewarding as her training has also supported her in managing the impact of trauma in her own personal life. She has also dealt firsthand with the impact of trauma in her own family and circle of friends
